The dark deepens quicker these days-
fall is finally here- tendrils of wind
through the whoosh of leaves-
the trees seem reluctant
to shed summer yet-
Yesterday, I walked a million miles
just to stay still-
tonight: the world rushes by
in this, the amber moment-
through the window of leaves
the moon, cradled gold,
betwixt the satellite dish
and wide open sky.
